Welcome to Happy Babies Daycare in Franklin, MA.
I am a small, play-based early start family daycare program in Franklin, MA dedicated to the needs of babies, toddlers, and preschoolers looking for a small environment. My daycare is located in a private home with a large fenced in backyard, close to Kennedy Elementary School. My license allows me to have 6 children (4 in addition to my two daughters). I take an individual approach with each child, fostering independence and respecting each child's emerging personality and abilities.
I develop routines that frame our day: setting the table and clearing our dishes, working in the garden, and having our morning meeting to plan our day together. Special emphasis is placed on positive social interactions between the children, while giving them the guidance and tools to solve their own problems. I strive to follow the rhythm of each child and integrate those rhythms into the daily lives of all the children in my program.
Our environment is my curriculum, with age appropriate activities emerging as the children develop, based on their interests and the space around us. In these early years the emphasis is on play, movement, and developing life skills. I focus on developing relationships that foster a sense of comfort and security. My philosophy draws from play-focused research, the Reggio-Emilia approach, with a strong emphasis on outdoor play. This program supports and encourages the sense of wonder innate to all children and hopes to inspire the important work of self-discovery and the exploration of the world around us.
