I do hope none of this will happen this winter but since we live in New England, it is better to be prepared, just in case!
* Happy Babies Daycare follows the Franklin Schools when declaring a snow day. A snow day is basically the town saying it is not safe for children to be on the roads. I apologize for any inconvenience. Having school aged children means they will be staying home, which could put me over my allowed limit of children.
* In case heavy snowfall starts during the day, please keep in mind I will not be able to shovel my driveway with daycare children on the premises, so try to time your pick up earlier.
* In case of power outage, I will notify you if my power is out longer than 15 minutes, so that you know it’s happening. If the power is out for more than 2 hours, it will start getting cold in here (my heat does not work without electricity) and I will send you another message. If power is out for more than 4 hours, I will need to take my children somewhere warm, may it be a friend’s house, café, store, town shelter, library, YMCA… depending on who has power. I will ask you to come and pick up your children before we leave the house, to make pick ups easier for everyone.
Let’s hope none of these scenarios will have to be put in action!
